Moscow United announcing partnership with Idaho Elite Soccer Academy
Idaho Elite Soccer Academy is owned by Derek Pittman, University of Idaho head women's soccer coach
Starting in August 2017, each MUSC team will be assigned an Idaho Elite Soccer Academy coach who will run at least 1 practice session per week during both the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 seasons. Under the leadership of Derek Pittman, Idaho Elite Soccer Academy coaches include University of Idaho coaching staff along with Brandon Schreiner, current MUSC technical trainer.
MUSC teams will retain their current Moscow United Coach who will run the remaining practices and games. The Idaho Elite Soccer Academy (IESA) coach will be available to the Moscow United coach for training related questions throughout the season. IESA coach will also attend at least one game per team per season to help assess the team's progress and provide training recommendations and insight. Additionally, Idaho Elite Soccer Academy will provide for 2 keeper trainings per week during each season.
MUSC is very excited to bring Division 1 level coaching to all of our MUSC players and mentorship to our coaches. To be clear, this is not UI players coaching, or a trainer showing up at a couple practices. A collegiate level coach will be assigned to each MUSC team for the entire year. All paid coaches will be supervised by Derek Pittman (who will also coach 2 MUSC teams). Aside from coaching the conference champion Vandals, Derek is the proud dad to 2 MUSC soccer players- Emma who played on our girls 08/09 team and Jozi who participated in micro under the coaching of her mom, Amber who also had a very successful collegiate soccer career. Derek brings to us experience as a professional player and successful collegiate coach, but also as a MUSC parent which is a tremendous asset to MUSC.
